In 2014 Iván was graduated in biochemistry at the Complutense University. In 2015, while he was doing a master in Neuroscience, Iván joined CINAC for his Master thesis. Since 2017 he has been doing his doctoral thesis, in which he studies the pathophysiology and striatal circuits of levodopa-induced dyskinesias, the main undesired effect of Parkinson Disease treatment with levodopa. During the summer of 2017, Iván joined Dr. Rui Costa lab in Lisbon (Portugal) for a short stay, in which he carried out experiments in order to study the special susceptibility of the Substantia Nigra pars compacta.
